Canada’s Bell Media & Fox Entertainment Global Developing Emily VanCamp Series ‘Prejudice’ About Sex Worker-Turned-Litigator

EXCLUSIVE: Prejudice, the Emily VanCamp-starring series about a former sex worker who becomes a litigator, has found a home at Canada’s Bell Media and Fox Entertainment Global.

Deadline can reveal that Bell, FEG and Canada’s Neshama Entertainment are in late-stage development on the series from Celeste Parr, which we broke almost a year ago to the day.

Prejudice follows rising litigator Liesl Wellington (VanCamp) as her life and career are thrown into upheaval when her past as a sex worker is publicly exposed.

We are told Bell and FEG are in development on a second script for the project but the series has not yet been greenlit. If ordered, it would be the first from Bell’s content licensing and distribution agreement with FEG. That deal is seeing shows forged for Fox in the U.S. and Bell platforms CTV and streamer Crave, while FEG handles international sales. A U.S. broadcast partner will be confirmed on series order, we are told.
