Neshama, Zanzibar adapting Irish novel series The Inishowen Mysteries for TV

Canadian production and distribution company Neshama Entertainment is partnering with Edwina Forkin’s Ireland-based Zanzibar Films to adapt Andrea Carter’s novel series The Inishowen Mysteries, C21 can reveal.

The companies are in development on a scripted miniseries adaptation of the murder mystery book series, with plans to begin shooting in Ireland later this year.

The team behind the project, which is being structured as a Canada/Ireland coproduction, will include Neshama Entertainment president and CEO Arnie Zipursky, veteran producer Forkin and writer and producer Ralph Christians.

The Inishowen Mysteries follows a tenacious yet evasive solicitor in County Donegal who throws herself into her work to avoid dealing with her own issues, but also to atone for the fateful role she played in her sister’s murder.

The sixth instalment in the book series, Death Writers, was published in 2023. Other titles in the series include Death At Whitewater Church, Treacherous Strand and Murder at Greysbridge.
